Ten years ago, Ginny (Toni Gonzaga), an Architecture student, and Marco (Piolo Pascual), a History professor, began a one-of-a-kind and unpredictable love story. In the five years that they were together, they brought out the best in each other, which included Marco's unrealized dream of becoming a chef. 场面调度和摄影都很喜欢，音乐结合舞蹈也十分精彩，只是故事的逻辑多少难以接受，没有代入感。
刚开始看的我：不就是美国移民版罗密欧与朱丽叶嘛，恋爱脑能奈我何。看到结尾的我：可恶还是被他们感动到了，年轻人就是要气盛啊！整体效果舞蹈优于歌曲。

一个很简单的故事但完成得很差，节奏有问题，并且男女主都过于单薄，不确定是演技还是设定缺失，两个人的爱情戏毫无感染力。但作为一部歌舞片，置景、群舞戏、镜头调度，这些都足够好，所以还是喜欢。

剧情太可怕了，如果只是现代罗密欧与朱丽叶，顶多就是吐槽剧情老土。但有几个正常人能在自己亲哥死了后还能继续和杀人凶手做下去的？wtf？不是不喜欢歌舞，但打架都是跳舞也太无语了…最最可怕的是，主演没有演技就算了，连颜值也么得！

两星半，这样的故事放在非常工业化的布景里，放在现在这个社会环境里，会有一些违和，有一些情感的发展已经说服不了观众了。
没看过原版也很少看歌舞片，但似乎《西区故事》面临的是与《沙丘》同样的问题甚至更为严重，大环境变了，尽管导演极尽所能将一切硬件做到最好，然而这套陈旧的故事却落后于时代太久，作为观众始终难以带入情感，后半程被猪队友气得想捶墙。

喜欢欧阳万城，演的不错。不容易啊，亚裔普通男性和白人女性的浪漫喜剧电影，也算是创造历史了。
