The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 2021遗憾之一没有去电影院观看这部良心巨作。很喜欢里面的每一帧画面。
为什么我从这部电影里看到了周星驰电影的影子？比如《少林足球》，比如《唐伯虎点秋香》，是我的问题还是这部电影的问题？
类型片大杂烩，都是老套路，很难共情，唯一动人的倒是沉默安静的杜威。

现在的流媒体时代，电影也越来越故事片化，像美剧一样，导演存在感越来越弱，故事的大数据感越来越强，优点就是故事片回归到了“讲好一个故事”这件事本身，不疾不徐的讲一个故事，娓娓道来，缓缓地进入一个男人的内心。这个故事其实挺文艺的，末日背景真的只是一个背景，提供一种气质，文艺的内核很动人，不死在金门大桥也算是不落俗套了。

看这部电影，我最大的疑惑是，为什么机器人会有演技啊？我能get到他所有的情绪，开心或悲伤、迷茫或坚定。他演得比流量们强太多了！
辐射把阳光化为毒药，防备令拥抱变成奢侈，遗憾是伏在膝上的小狗，希望是拂过钢索的河风。地下堡垒是兑了冰水的啤酒，地面历险是值得回味的罐头，保持怀疑是岁月予人的能力，原始信任是造物馈赠的奇迹。
电影海报也太动画味了吧，可是片子特点是逼真啊！
开场和片尾的水墨非常精彩~
除了被人诟病的的人物造型（可能前期太多人上图骂，我反而看惯无视了…），总体色彩难看是它的最大短板（又烂又脏的配色，绘画大忌），令前面的剧情加倍不吸引人～
8.0分。没想到是一个温情满满的公路电影。当芬奇病了，机器人杰夫开始照顾他的时候，透过荧幕我看到了一个同行伙伴的成长。芬奇的“固执”其实想恪守的是自己的信念。杰夫像极了一个爱添麻烦又心地善良的小男孩。
看这个电影你不需要任何准备 走进电影院开始一场沉浸式体验就可以 前面有些剧情和人物对白有点尬 但瑕不掩瑜 虽然是逆袭 但确实会被燃到 关键是舞狮的场面 动作 确实没得挑 行云流水 太绝了
舞狮天赋先天满格的几位少年一言不合就爱上舞狮了，接着理所当然就赢得冠军了。。。╮(╯▽╰)╭

芬奇之于杰夫如师如父。上次看这么细腻温暖又动人的末世题材还是机器人瓦力。
科幻废土版鲁宾逊漂流记。汤姆汉克斯的独角戏，一人一机器人一狗，末日生存。老汉爱狗，甚至把救狗照顾狗设定为机器人的最高优先级。整体平淡了些，节奏也慢，片子很长，少半个小时会更好
